City of Orlando seeking digital art for Art2 Park

The City of Orlando has opened submissions for its Digital Art Call for Art. The call is part of an initiative that invites artists to create motion-based digital works for display at Art² Pocket Park in downtown Orlando.

The project features animated, generative, or video-based pieces in landscape format, at least five minutes long, that are featured on the large television in the park as part of a permanent, ongoing public art installation. Because the work will be shown in an open, pedestrian-heavy environment, the city has outlined specific content guidelines, including avoiding bright white backgrounds, explicit material (no boobies), no political or religious messaging, and no identifiable logos or branding. Selected artists will receive a $1,500 stipend for their commissioned works.

Submissions are due by midnight December 5, with up to four works allowed per artist.
