Holy City Zoo BBQ (Website) has apparently closed. A sign posted to the front of the Longwood restaurant confirmed the closure, effective June 1.
“While our journey was shorter than we envisioned, we are sincerely grateful to everyone who visited, supported us, and believed in what we were trying to build,” the message read. “We appreciate every meal shared, every kind word, and every person who gave us a chance.”
We wrote about Holy City Zoo BBQ when it opened in April, covering its globally inspired barbecue concept that brought together smoked meats and flavors from different culinary traditions under one roof in Longwood. We even recorded an episode of our weekly radio show, “The Orlando Shine Show,” on Real Radio 104.1 FM there. It had been open for less than two months.
The restaurant’s Instagram account has been deactivated, though the website remains active. No reason for the closure has been given. Orlando Shine reached out to the owners for comment and has not heard back.
The property is already being listed as a “turkey BBQ restaurant and bar” on LoopNet.
