Blue Spring State Park (Website) in Volusia County is rolling out a reservation requirement for all day-use visitors starting July 15, a change park officials say is intended to address the long entrance lines and capacity closures that have become routine at one of Central Florida’s most popular natural destinations.
The park frequently reaches capacity and may temporarily close, with closures occurring intermittently and sometimes lasting several hours. Staff members have already started handing out information to visitors and posting signs throughout the park to spread the word.
Beginning July 15, all visitors, including Florida State Parks annual passholders, pedestrians, and cyclists, must have a reservation to enter the park. The reservation window opened July 8, and reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance at FloridaStateParks.org. Entry fees are paid online when the reservation is made.
Visitors with camping or boat tour reservations will still be admitted during closures, but pedestrians and bicyclists will not be allowed to enter until the park reopens.
