2025 State of Downtown address set for Tuesday at Kia Center

The Downtown Orlando Partnership (Website) will host its 2025 State of Downtown address this Tuesday at the Kia Center. The event begins at 3:30 p.m., with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. and a networking reception following the program until 6:30 p.m. Mayor Buddy Dyer will deliver the keynote address, outlining highlights of the city’s progress over the past year and highlighting his priorities for downtown for the next year.

The annual hob-knob brings together the regular crowd of business insiders, developers, civic leaders, and lookeeloos. It serves as one of the city’s most publicized forums for discussing growth and investment in the downtown core, and gives attendees a very broad and friendly update on major development projects, public safety efforts, infrastructure improvements, and quality-of-life initiatives.

This year’s address will likely build on topics like Project DTO, a community-sourced vision that emphasizes walkability, mixed-use development, improved public spaces, and a shift toward downtown functioning as a neighborhood rather than strictly an entertainment/commercial district. If you’re planning on attending, we suggest taking a drink when the mayor mentions flying cars, Main Streets, and autonomous vehicles, SunRail night service, Brightline connections, nightlife reforms, Mission Zero, housing, and placemaking.

The DOP is a 501(c)(6) business-membership nonprofit that is contracted through the Community Redevelopment Agency to host signature events like State of Downtown and the Golden Brick Awards each year. For fiscal year 2025-2026, the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has approved a funding agreement with DOP “not to exceed” $100,000.

Tickets to the State of Downtown start at $145 and are available for purchase HERE.
