Victory Cup Initiative (Website) will hold its 11th annual Storytelling Showcase Breakfast on Tuesday, February 24, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando. During breakfast, 10 finalist nonprofits deliver a two-and-a-half-minute impact story, and the audience votes in real time to determine additional awards.
Victory Cup’s model differs from a typical charity breakfast because every finalist receives unrestricted funding, with the top vote-getters receiving larger totals. In Orlando Shine’s earlier coverage, Victory Cup reported it has raised more than $4 million since launching in 2015, with last year’s top organization taking home more than $50,000 (the final amount varies year to year).
This year’s finalists include Lift Orlando, 4Roots, Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida, Florida Wildlife Hospital, One Heart for Women and Children, Grace Counseling, Perform Orlando Arts, Recovery House, Service and Love Together, and The Penitent Thief, Inc.
