Pig Floyd’s Urban BBQ (Website) and Pigzza (Website) are merging into a single restaurant, with Pig Floyd’s relocating from its original spot into Pigzza’s larger space. The owner of both restaurants, Thomas Ward, made the announcement early Thursday evening, after a teaser message was posted the day before.
The combined concept will remain in the Mills 50 neighborhood where both brands built their following. Pig Floyd’s original location will close after service on Sunday, September 6, with exclusive specials planned throughout the week starting September 1 as the location winds down. The new combined restaurant is expected to open in mid-September.
The merged concept will operate under Pig Floyd’s fast-casual service style while making use of Pigzza’s full bar. Hours will expand to include lunch and dinner service on Mondays, a day neither restaurant previously covered, along with Pigzza’s late-night walk-up window serving pizza slices Fridays and Saturdays from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. The new menu will combine favorites from both brands under one roof.
“This is an exciting new chapter to refocus on what I love doing most: high-quality food made from scratch,” Ward said in a statement. “We are re-energizing our team with a reinvigorated passion for exceptional quality and service. We’re getting back to the core of what we do best, making great food even better while continuing to serve our guests’ favorite items from both brands now under one roof.”
According to the announcement, all staff members from both locations have been offered the opportunity to continue with the combined restaurant.
Pig Floyd’s is known for scratch-made barbecue, while Pigzza built a following just up the street for its pizza and late-night slice window.
