Gator’s Dockside (Website), the Florida-based sports bar and restaurant chain, has closed its Clermont location at 1200 Oakley Seaver Drive [GMap], the company announced in a social media post Friday.
“As of this morning (8/22/26), we have officially closed,” the restaurant said in the statement. “Thank you to all who were a part of the Clermont Gator’s Dockside family over the years! We will miss you all!”
No reason for the closure was given in the announcement.
Gator’s Dockside was founded in Jacksonville in May 1991 by brothers Tony and Paul Cipparone and their friend John Foerst. The chain built its identity around Americana bar food with a “Florida twist,” including seafood and fried alligator tail, alongside a sports bar atmosphere heavy on TVs and memorabilia. The Clermont location had been a longtime neighborhood fixture, known for wing nights, trivia and bingo events, and a reputation among regulars for friendly service.
Gator’s Dockside continues to operate other Central Florida locations, including in Lake Mary, Windermere, St. Cloud, and multiple Orlando addresses, along with locations elsewhere in the state.
