Mennello Museum’s “Our Orlando” exhibition returns with three local artists this May

"CRAB HANDS IN DEEP WATERS," ACRYLIC AND RAFFIA ON LINEN, BY TASANEE DURRETT

The Mennello Museum of American Art (Website) is opening the fourth installment of its Our Orlando exhibition series on May 15, featuring the work of three Orlando artists: Tasanee Durrett (Website), Martha Jo Mahoney, and Mado Smith. The show runs through August 16 at the museum’s Loch Haven Park location at 900 E. Princeton Street [GMap].

Our Orlando is an ongoing series that spotlights local artists working in Central Florida, curated directly from their studios to highlight their works. This fourth edition brings together three artists with distinctive practices and a wide range of inspiration and material exploration.

According to the museum, Tasanee Durrett’s work explores themes of healing, connection, and emotional resonance through vibrant color, layered symbolism, and intuitive mark-making. Details on Mahoney and Smith’s work are forthcoming as the exhibition opens.

The opening reception is Friday, May 15. Members get an exclusive preview from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with catered bites and a cash bar by Runway Catering. The public reception runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with music by Steamin Jazz. Admission to the reception is free for museum members and $10 for non-members.
