Freehand Goods (Website) will host the second annual Freehand Fest on Sunday, October 11, from noon to 5 p.m. at its College Park shop, with a 20-brewery beer festival, a charity casino, flash tattoos, live T-shirt printing, and various family activities. And it’s totally free to attend (except for the beer stuff).
The participating breweries will pour a range of styles in a new “Battle of the Styles” format, in which guests vote for their favorite beer in each head-to-head matchup. Beer festival tickets are $35 in advance and $50 on the day for guests 21 and older. The ticket includes unlimited 4-ounce pours, a commemorative mug, and $1,000 in charity casino money.
The charity casino will have blackjack, craps, and roulette tables. A donation is suggested to play, and all of it goes to the Florida State Parks Foundation, the event’s charitable partner.
Apparel partner Impress Ink (Website) will print Halloween artwork live, with designs available only at the festival. Tattoo artist Nick DeMars (Instagram) is flying in from Pennsylvania to offer flash tattoos inside Freehand’s own tattoo studio on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, and spots are first come, first served.
Sixteen more tents will feature local artists, Florida charities, and food, beverage, and dessert vendors, including Mohawk Smokehouse, Bang Bang Bakehouse, John’s South Indian Kitchen, and The Neighbors. Back To Nature Wildlife Rescue will bring two or three resident rescue animals.
DJ Ken Sherry will perform from noon to 5 p.m.
