Hard Knocks Hospitality (Website), a local hospitality group, has purchased Antonio’s (Website) in Maitland, an institution serving the community since 1989.
Situated at 611 S. Orlando Avenue [GMap], Antonio’s has long operated as two distinct experiences under one roof, with a casual Italian market and cafe on the ground floor stocked with imported goods, wine, and prepared dishes, and a fancy upstairs dining room known for wood-fired Italian cooking, fresh seafood, Black Angus beef, and a balcony overlooking the adjacent Lake Lily. Founder Greg Gentile originally converted a former Bonanza Sirloin Pit into the multi-story concept.
Hard Knocks Hospitality also operates Burger U, Jazz Tastings, and Garp & Fuss, but Antonio’s marks their most prominent acquisition to date.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to carry Antonio’s forward,” said Alyssa Fenu, Director of Marketing and Administration. “Our goal is to preserve the brand’s identity and the charm that has made it such a staple in Maitland over the years, while thoughtfully enhancing the overall guest experience. We’re taking a lot of care to honor what people already love about Antonio’s, and we look forward to sharing more as things develop.”
