RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Alyssa Edwards plays The Plaza Live (Website) tonight, Wednesday, April 22, at 8 p.m. as part of her “To RuPaul, Thanks for Everything” tour, styled as a memoir-style live show. It’s billed as a heartwarming and hilarious ride through the life of Justin Johnson, the shy kid from Mesquite, Texas, who became the Queen of the Mothertucking World.
Alyssa first broke through on Season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2012, where her confessionals, tongue pops, and outsized personality made her an instant fan favorite. She returned for All Stars Season 2 in 2016, finishing as fourth runner-up, and in 2018 starred in the Netflix docuseries Dancing Queen, which followed her award-winning Beyond Belief Dance Company back home in Texas. In 2024, she won RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All-Stars, claiming the title no one had held before.
The current tour takes stock of all of it and features jaw-dropping costumes, spectacular performances, and the stories behind how she got here.
Tickets are $53-$124 at plazaliveorlando.com. The show is 18 and up.
