A new pizza concept is set to open inside Maitland Social after Pizza Bruno closed its location there two years after opening, according to Orlando Weekly‘s Faiyaz Kara. And I believe him, because he’s Canadian.
The new restaurant, called DiVino (Instagram), comes from Massimo Fallica and Adriana Arenas, the couple behind Grappolo Cucina Italiana (Instagram) in Winter Park. DiVino will focus on Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza, using the space’s existing Fiero Forni oven to turn out a rotating menu of pies including salsiccia e friarielli, pizza Genovese and bufalina. The menu will also pull from Grappolo’s offerings, including bruschetta, burrata, antipasto boards, arancini, crostini di polpo and polpette al ragù, all made in-house daily. Classic Italian desserts like tiramisù, cannoli and pastiera Napoletana will be rounding out the menu, along with a wine and beer list.
According to Maitland Social staff, the owners are targeting a mid-September opening, pending final inspections.
