2026 Orlando Fringe Review: We Got Got

Every revenge story starts somewhere. We Got Got (Website) begins at an end-of-year business productivity review packed with enough corporate buzzwords to make you subconsciously want to update your LinkedIn profile. The opening establishes the tone immediately: fast, self-aware, and fully committed to the idea of “boldly going where no theater major has gone before… profit!”

From there, Kerry Ipema and KK Apple launch into a wildly theatrical revenge mission after being financially wronged by [REDACTED]. Based on true events — or at least emotionally true events — the show follows two best friends on an escalating international quest to recover what was taken from them or, failing that, achieve something arguably more important: getting even.

Trying to describe the energy of We Got Got starts to feel impossible because the show gleefully steals from every genre available. It feels part buddy comedy, part revenge caper, part spy movie, and part cinematic adventure sequence. Somewhere between Ocean’s ElevenMission: ImpossibleAustin PowersBatman (with a particular thirst for justice), and a little Dude, Where’s My Car?, the production finds a rhythm that somehow shouldn’t work but absolutely does.

What really sells the show is Ipema and Apple’s chemistry. The pair move with impressive speed between characters, storytelling, and escalating bits without losing momentum. Audience participation becomes part of the fun rather than an obligation, and simple theatrical tools are used to surprisingly strong effect. Prop comedy lands repeatedly, and a sequence involving yarn “laser” security systems became one of those moments where the audience seemed delighted simply by the commitment to the bit.

Underneath all the chaos is something unexpectedly relatable: the fantasy of doing something wildly impractical in response to being wronged instead of quietly accepting defeat and filling out customer service forms. We Got Got never asks the audience to believe this is a reasonable plan — only that it’s entertaining to imagine.

Fans of theatrical parody, fast-paced comedy, friendship stories, and lovingly overcomplicated revenge plots will likely have a great time here. Like any good heist, the joy isn’t really whether they succeed — it’s watching the increasingly ridiculous plan unfold.
