Winter Park History Museum to host pop-up exhibit showcasing four local artists

"VENETIAN CANAL: COMING TO THE END" BY DON SONDAG JR.

The Winter Park History Museum (Website) will host a special pop-up art exhibit, Echoes | 4 Artists of Winter Park, on Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15. The event will feature the work of four well-known Winter Park artists: Don Sondag, Lynn Whipple, John Whipple, and the late Grady Kimsey.

The exhibit opens with a reception on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., where guests can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and light bites while viewing and purchasing artwork. The exhibit continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the museum’s regular hours.

The event is presented in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition, Echoes of Expression: The History of Arts & Culture in Winter Park. It highlights the city’s artistic community and its lasting impact on local culture.

Sondag, a Winter Park native, studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and later in New York. Lynn and John Whipple are longtime members of the McRae Art Studios and are known for their creative mixed-media works. The late Grady Kimsey, a legendary local sculptor and teacher, will also be honored with a display of his art.

The Winter Park History Museum is located at 200 W. New England Avenue [GMap].
