Oviedo-based DUDA (Website) is donating $50,000 to the Oviedo YMCA to expand adaptive swim lessons for children with special needs; the company will announce at a ceremonial check presentation Wednesday, July 15, at the YMCA at 7900 Red Bug Lake Road [GMap].

The funding will support specialized instructors, staff training, sensory-friendly supplies, adaptive learning resources, and scholarships for Seminole County families, increasing the program’s overall capacity.

The donation coincides with DUDA’s 100th anniversary. Founded in 1926 as a small celery farm by Andrew Duda on 40 acres in Central Florida, the company has grown into a fifth-generation, family-owned enterprise with more than 45,000 acres across the U.S. Its operations today include Duda Farm Fresh Foods, The Viera Company, Duda Ranches, and DUDA Commercial Properties.

DUDA’s mission is “to multiply and share God’s blessings,” and is a faith-driven company. The YMCA, or “Young Men’s Christian Association,” was founded in London in 1844 as a Christian organization dedicated to developing the spirit, mind, and body of its members.
