PINK FLOYD LASER LIGHT SHOW PHOTO VIA ORLANDO SCIENCE CENTER
Orlando Science Center (Website) is extending its hours on Friday and Saturday nights this summer for Stellar Nights, presented by Massey Services, running July 10 through August 1.
On those nights, OSC will stay open until 10 p.m., with laser light shows, live planetarium presentations, giant screen films, telescope viewing in the observatory, animal encounters, and access to all four floors of exhibits. Beer and wine will also be available to purchase.
The laser light schedule rotates each night, including shows with music by Taylor Swift opening July 10, followed by Queen (July 11), Laser Beatles (July 17), Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon (July 18), Laser Country (July 24), Grateful Dead (July 25), Laser Tribute (July 31), and Rocket Man on August 1. Shows use 8K laser projection and 30,000 watts of stereo sound.
The observatory, which houses one of the largest publicly accessible refractor telescopes in Florida, will be open from 7:30 to 10 p.m., weather permitting. Live planetarium shows feature a presenter navigating Orlando’s night sky and traveling to the edge of the universe in an interactive format.
KidsTown will be open until 9 p.m. Animal ambassadors from the Life exhibit will make appearances at the Discovery Stage throughout each evening.
Stellar Nights is included with general admission. OSC members get in free. Tickets are available in advance at osc.org/visit.
