NEW SEATING PHOTO VIA WINTER PARK PLAYHOUSE
The Winter Park Playhouse (Website) derobed its sexy newly renovated home at 711 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] on Tuesday, July 7, with Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and Winter Park Mayor Sheila DiCiccio joining theater leadership and community members for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The renovation, funded by an $8 million Tourist Development Tax grant from Orange County (hence Mayor Demings attending said ribbon-cutting), transformed the theater over ten months of construction that began in November 2025. The upgrades include a larger stage with Broadway-style seating and expanded capacity, a new lobby, updated restrooms, a new cabaret space, and a range of structural improvements.
A public Grand Opening Gala is scheduled for Friday, July 17, at 7 p.m. and will include a one-hour performance created specifically for the new stage, live music, and a dessert and cocktail reception. The event has already sold out.
