Martín Ojeda scored twice, including a “diving header” (which is totally a thing) in the 90th minute, to lead Orlando City SC to a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night at Inter&Co Stadium.
Ojeda opened the scoring from a penalty kick in the 19th minute after drawing a foul from Union goalkeeper Andrew Rick (worth it). Dorsey and his amazing ponytail extended the lead in the 27th minute with his first MLS goal for the club.
Milan Iloski (who cares) pulled one back for Philadelphia in the 54th minute, but speedy Duncan McGuire restored Orlando’s two-goal advantage in the 72nd minute, finishing after Tyrese Spicer muscled through the midfield and squared a ball across the goal.
Philadelphia responded quickly with goals from Cavan Sullivan (who cares) in the 75th minute and Ben Bender (who cares) in the 79th minute to tie the match 3-3.
Ojeda secured the win in the 90th minute with a diving header (which we already told you is totally a thing) from an Adrián Marín cross.
Interim head coach Martín Perelman praised the effort but acknowledged areas for improvement, saying “Happy with the victory. I think the guys are putting in a lot of effort, and we had a really good performance,” Perelman said. “We made some mistakes that led to what everyone saw. What I learned from this game is to enjoy the victories, and that’s what we’re going to do.” And we assume he went and got very drunk with the team and played Baldur’s Gate 3.
