H&H Bagels (Instagram | Website) will open its first Orlando-area location on May 14 at 931 North State Road 434 [GMap] in Altamonte Springs, and the first 250 customers will receive tote bags with H&H gift cards ranging from $5 to $100.

Founded in 1972 on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, H&H Bagels has become a New York City institution, appearing in “Sex and the City,” “Seinfeld,” and “The Office.” The brand operates seven locations across New York City and has expanded to Boca Raton, Santa Monica, Palm Desert, Washington D.C., Jacksonville, Tampa, Knoxville, West Palm Beach, Chapel Hill, and Miami.

The Altamonte Springs franchise is owned by husband-and-wife team Declan and Urvashi Walsh, who relocated to Central Florida after nearly 20 years in New York City. The couple plans to open additional locations across Central Florida.

H&H Bagels are proofed and kettle-boiled in New York City water, then oven-baked fresh on-site throughout the day. The menu includes classic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, Nova Salmon with “The Works,” and various cream cheese flavors, including scallion, spicy scallion, veggie, and strawberry.

Bagel varieties include plain, everything, sesame, cinnamon raisin, jalapeño cheddar, whole wheat, egg, and blueberry. Specialty sandwiches include the Southwest Turkey with bacon, avocado, pepper jack, and southwest sauce, and The Gardener with veggie cream cheese, avocado, tomato, and cucumber.

The Altamonte Springs location will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
