After more than three decades on air, Kayonne Riley (Instagram) is signing off from WUCF 89.9 FM (Website). Her final broadcast is scheduled for Friday, May 1.
Riley joined WUCF in 1994 and helped to transform 89.9 into a full-time jazz station, she launched the Latin Jazz HD2 channel, produced more than 200 Live From Studio A concerts with artists including Arturo Sandoval and Larry Coryell, and led the station through its digital transition. JazzWeek named her Programmer of the Year in 2019. She also teaches broadcasting at UCF and performs locally as a guitarist and singer.
To mark her retirement, WUCF has launched the Kayonne Riley Legacy Fund. Donations at wucf.org/legacyfund support the future of jazz programming at the station. The spring fund drive runs April 6-12 and will feature Riley’s reflections and special guests.
