Global Peace Film Festival (Website) is hosting a special screening of the award-winning documentary, For The Living, on Thursday, September 18, at the Winter Park Library.

The film, directed by Tim Roper and Marc Bennett, shines a light on the complex coexistence of dehumanization and empathy in today’s world by looking at intergenerational trauma and resilience through a group of Holocaust survivors and their families. It shares the story of survivor Marcel Zielinski, who survived two years in a death camp before being liberated by Russian troops at the age of 10, and then how he found his way on foot 60 miles to Krakow, Poland, through an active war zone, to try to find his family.

Decades later, 250 cyclists from 12 different countries retraced his path in an event called the Ride for the Living, run by JCC Krakow.

Tickets for the screening are $10 and can be purchased HERE. Watch the trailer below.
