Duncan Trussell (Website), the celebrated comedian, podcaster, and writer behind The Duncan Trussell Family Hour (which gets over 1 million downloads a month), will appear live at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Orlando on Friday, August 8, at 7 p.m.
Trussell’s singular comedic style blends surreal storytelling with spiritual exploration, inviting audiences into deep dialogues wrapped in absurdity and humor. But his most widely recognized creative achievement (according to me) remains The Midnight Gospel, a Netflix animated series co-created with Adventure Time’s Pendleton Ward. Drawing its dialogue from genuine interview audio recorded on Trussell’s podcast, the show blends exaggerated psychedelic visuals with philosophical conversations about death, consciousness, grief, meditation, and personal growth .
The result is a visionary, imaginative space where Clancy, the embattled spacecaster (like a podcaster) voiced by Trussell, traverses post‑apocalyptic realms to conduct “spacecasts” that invite viewers into existential inquiry and emotional honesty.
