As reported by our friends at FOX 35, Walt Disney World will restrict access to buses and boats departing from Disney Springs starting June 28 and will limit riders to resort hotel guests and those with dining or experience reservations only, with cast members scanning MagicBands and reservation confirmations before guests board.
The restriction applies to resort buses and the Sassagoula River Cruise, which serves Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts (French Quarter and Riverside), Old Key West Resort, and Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Disney tested the policy during peak periods including New Year’s and Easter. The change closes a long-used workaround where day guests parked free at Disney Springs and caught resort buses without paying for theme park parking.
Guests who need proof of eligibility should have their room key or dining reservation confirmation ready. Cast members will be stationed at checkpoints before the bus loops to confirm the veracity of your claims.
Non-resort guests who previously relied on Disney Springs transportation will need to pay for theme park parking or secure a dining reservation if they want to use the buses and boats. But don’t be a nerd and make a reservation and then not show up.
