A fire occurred in the kitchen of Bourbon Steak (Website) restaurant at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin on Wednesday, June 25, and a guest caught some of the incident on Instagram.

According to a restaurant spokesperson, the restaurant’s ventilation system “operated as designed” and pumped the smoke to the exterior of the hotel, making the smoke visible from outside the building. In response, the hotel evacuated the lobby and multiple guest room floors out of an abundance of caution.

Once hotel staff confirmed there were no safety concerns, guests were allowed to return to their rooms. The situation was contained, and there is currently no safety concern, according to a statement from the resort.

Bourbon Steak, the celebrity chef Michael Mina-operated steakhouse, will remain closed until further notice while the situation is fully assessed. We covered the opening in July 2025, HERE.
