Cosplayers and costume hoarders with leftover outfits and pieces gathering dust in their closets will have a place to pass them on next month, when a vendor at the upcoming Milk Mart hosts a free costume swap during the October 4 market. The swap is organized by Waste Knot Orlando (Instagram) and will be set up behind Etoile Boutique (Instagram), in the Milk District.
The swap stall invites people to bring old cosplay pieces and costume parts, from masks to wigs to fur suit accessories, and trade with other attendees. No trades are required to participate, and there is no cost to join.
“When you’ve spent hours crafting the perfect Garfield mask or Guy Fieri jacket, you can’t just throw it away after,” Milk Mart wrote in a post on Instagram, adding that the swap gives unused pieces, like an extra Marge Simpson wig or a spare pair of fur suit paws, a chance to become part of someone else’s next costume.
The swap is part of Milk Mart’s Halloween market held in the Milk District. Follow them on Instagram to see some of the other vendors scheduled to appear. The market will run from noon to 6 p.m., and if you can ride a bike, you should.
