Blue Man Group announces opening date for new I-Drive location

Blue Man Group is set to return to Orlando in May 2026, years after the closure of its long-running show at Universal Orlando Resort. The performance group will launch a new residency on Friday, May 1, at a fancy new theater located at ICON Park on International Drive.

The new venue, called the Blue Man Theater, is being constructed beneath The Orlando Eye near ICON Park’s Universal Boulevard entrance, at the rear of the property. The Orlando return has been delayed several times. Blue Man Group originally announced plans to come back to the market in 2025, but construction and permitting issues pushed the opening into 2026.

Organizers say the Orlando show will feature a mix of the group’s classic material along with new content developed specifically for the ICON Park venue. The production is expected to follow the group’s familiar format, combining music, physical comedy, and audience interaction, and hopefully that almost suffocating tsunami of loose toilet paper at the end of the show.

Ticket sales for the new Orlando residency are scheduled to begin on Friday, January 16, at 10 a.m. We also hear they’ll be popping up at this year’s Immerse Festival in downtown Orlando, February 20-22.

Blue Man Group previously operated a long-term Orlando show at Universal Orlando Resort before shutting down during the pandemic. The ICON Park residency will mark the group’s first permanent Orlando home since that closure.
