Strawberry Girls (Facebook | Bandcamp) and Andrés will headline a four-band show at Will’s Pub on Thursday, November 5, with Secret Gardens and Atomic Life also on the bill.
According to some gentle internet sleuthing, Strawberry Girls is an instrumental rock band from Salinas, California, formed around 2011 by guitarist Zachary Garren and drummer Ben Rosett. Garren previously played in Dance Gavin Dance. The band’s sound blends progressive rock, experimental rock, and post-hardcore, and it has said it keeps its music instrumental because lyrics can distract from the songs.
It signed with Tragic Hero Records in 2013 and has released five studio albums: French Ghetto (2013), American Graffiti (2015), Italian Ghosts (2017), Tasmanian Glow (2019) and Prussian Gloom (2022). The band took its name from a lyric in the Siouxsie and the Banshees song “Christine” and appeared twice on NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly, in 2016 and 2017.
