2026 Orlando Fringe review: Becoming Magic Mike 2: Stranger Thongs

IMAGE VIA ORLANDO FRINGE

This show is either one of the best things I’ve ever seen or … something else. It’s definitely Fringey and destined to make show creator, DK Reinemer (Instagram), a lot of money (at least in Fringe terms).

The handsome actor, writer, comedian, feels like the ex-boyfriend you still think about years later when you’re married to a finance bro. His comedy is effortless and sincere, and sometimes comes in the form of him playing guitar in his underwear. The whole production feels like that scene from PS I Love You when Gerard Butler makes his belly dance for Hilary Swank, and it made my ovaries hurt. But with the pre-requisite Magic Mike and Stranger Things “story arc” promised in the title. Reinemer is approachable and attractive and had everyone eating out of his palm, even at a 6:30 p.m. Sunday show (which sold out).

There’s some light audience interaction, which comes as a relief somewhat, as he bumbles his way artfully through his show. The audience likes him so much, we want him to do well. Which I felt firsthand, because I was pulled up on stage for a guest role that had me facing some high school physical education class trauma. So many balls. Some of them were blue.

He’s got great hair, he’s funny, and he lets one lucky audience member put stuff on his nips. You’ll love it. Take your abuela.
