The 156th Silver Spurs Rodeo (Website) runs Thursday through Sunday, February 19-22, at Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee. The rodeo features all seven traditional events: bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing, with cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation competing for prize money.
Known as the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi, the Silver Spurs Rodeo is one of the top events sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The event has been an Osceola County tradition since the 1940s, when local ranchers formed the Silver Spurs Riding Club.
Show times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and parking is free. However, the Saturday night rodeo is completely sold out. Thursday is Student Night and Osceola County students can get in free with a valid student ID.
Silver Spurs Arena is located at 1875 Silver Spur Lane [GMap] in Kissimmee.
