Winter Garden is looking for artists to submit for its dog-inspired summer exhibition at City Hall

The City of Winter Garden has announced an artists’ call for Dog Days of Summer: The Ulti-Mutt Art Exhibit, a juried show coming to the Art in Public Places Gallery at Winter Garden City Hall this summer.

Artists can submit up to three original works inspired by dogs or their interpretation of the theme. Submissions are accepted electronically from May 1 through June 10. Up to 25 selected pieces will be on display at City Hall from July 1 through August 31. Application details are available via Art in Public Places Gallery (Website).

Residents are encouraged to bring a photo of their own dog, up to 4×6 inches, to add to “The Dogs of Winter Garden,” a separate community display running alongside the juried show. And yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome inside City Hall to see the exhibit in person.

The opening Launch Paw-ty is Friday, July 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at City Hall. The free event will feature a dog photo station, themed refreshments for humans and canines, giveaways, and a chance to meet the artists and their four-legged muses.

“Winter Garden loves their dogs and so do we,” said Donna Corbus, City Community Liaison and AIPP curator. “The exhibition is a great way to highlight our residents’ beloved canine companions while providing a fun outing for the entire family, including the furry ones.”
