Meltt (Website) will play The Social (Website) on Saturday, September 5, with support from Low Hum. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show is open to ages 12 and up.
The Vancouver indie-pop quartet, made up of Chris Smith (lead vocals, guitar, bass, keys), Jamie Turner (drums, percussion), James Porter (guitar, keys, bass, vocals) and Ian Winkler (bass, keys, guitar), is touring behind its upcoming third album, “Pathways.”
Thematically, the band describes “Pathways” as centered on what member Ian Winkler calls “four men approaching their 30s and figuring out their paths and lives,” touching on relationships, loss, and the uneasy feeling of navigating the modern world. “Our tone is usually pretty optimistic and hopeful, but this time we let some darkness in,” bandmate James Porter said. “There are so many things we experience individually, but when we get in the studio, it’s clear that we’re on a journey together.”
