Universal Orlando launches Spielberg Summer Blockbusters exhibit with props from Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park

Universal Orlando opened its Spielberg Summer Blockbusters exhibit on May 23, and it’s full of props and costumes from Steven Spielberg’s iconic films.

The limited-time exhibit at Universal Studios Florida showcases artifacts from Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, and the upcoming film Disclosure Day, which releases in theaters on June 12, so it’s double-dipping as a bit of a promo. The exhibit is located in the Studio Styles space in the Hollywood section of the park under a film strip-inspired marquee.

The exhibit includes photos of Spielberg on set throughout his career alongside a history of his filmmaking. Real props and costumes from the films are on display.

Jaws-themed photo opportunities are available in the Amity area of the park. Universal is also offering specialty food and drinks themed to Spielberg films, along with an exclusive merchandise collection that includes limited-release apparel and accessories.

CityWalk will also be screening classic Spielberg films, including Back to the Future, Jaws, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial from June 20 through August 26.

Spielberg has maintained a creative consultant deal with Universal parks since 1987 that guarantees him 2 percent of gross receipts from Universal parks in Florida, including tickets and concessions. Deadline reported in 2009 the deal was worth approximately $50 million per year, before the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter significantly increased the park’s popularity. Sources told Theme Park Tribune the deal extends to the new Epic Universe theme park too.

All summer experiences run through August 10. More information is available at universalorlando.com.
