“Orlando es un Chiste” (Orlando is a Joke), a Spanish-language comedy festival, will debut June 3-6 at the Rosen JCC with eight live shows featuring 28 comedians from eight Latin American countries, including Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.
Featured comedians include Lucas Lauriente and Gonzalo Mihail (Argentina), Juan Cajiao (Colombia), Stephan Dyer (Costa Rica), Bonco Quiñongo (Cuba), Patricia Peña (Dominican Republic), Jaime Ferraro (Peru), Luis Chataing and Nanutria (Venezuela), and Puerto Rican performers Titito Sánchez, Cristina Sánchez, Erick Bonilla, Ernesto Rolón, Keropi Sánchez, Luis Ponce, Juliana Rivera, and El Mago y Yo. The Venezuelan contingent also includes Led Varela, Francisco Ramos, Abelardo, Kabeto, Neisser, Daniel Pistola, Michelle Dernersissian, Lui Vizcaya, Daniel Trujillo, Alex Goncalves, and Ron Chávez.
Orlando es un Chiste is part of the international festival Miami es un Chiste (Instagram | Website), which is celebrating its second edition at the Miami Improv from May 21-31.
“Bringing ‘Orlando es un Chiste’ to life is a natural step in the festival’s expansion,” said Ximena Otero, executive producer. “Central Florida has a vibrant and diverse Latino community with a strong interest in high-quality cultural offerings. We want audiences in Orlando to be part of this experience and connect through humor and our shared identity.”
