Sanford Porchfest (Instagram | Website), one of Central Florida’s most popular community music festivals, just announced that it will not hold its annual free event in February 2026. Organizers shared the news in a statement on social media, which you can see at the bottom of this post, citing delays in planning and a need to ensure the long-term sustainability of the event.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we share the news that Sanford Porchfest will not take place this coming February,” organizers wrote. “This decision was incredibly difficult, and we feel the weight of it deeply. Our festival has always been about more than music. It’s about community, connection, and celebrating the incredible local talent that makes our town so special.”

Organizers emphasized that this is not the end of the festival. Sanford Porchfest plans to return in February 2027 to mark the tenth anniversary of its first event. “Sometimes you must hit pause,” the statement read. “Sanford Porchfest Music Festival will return in February of 2027, ready to once again fill our streets and hearts with music, joy, and togetherness.”

Since its founding, Sanford Porchfest has become a signature event for the city, featuring dozens of local musicians performing on neighborhood porches throughout the historic district, attracting more than 50,000 people to historic downtown Sanford each year. Proceeds from the festival fund arts scholarships and programs for local students, with an estimated $280,000 donated in the past few years.

Organizers thanked supporters, volunteers, and artists for their continued enthusiasm and encouraged the public to keep showing up for local music and arts programs throughout the year. “We’ll miss gathering with you,” the statement said, “but we’ll be back before you know it.”
