Foreign Dissent (Instagram) will mark its tenth anniversary at Will’s Pub in Orlando on Monday, October 20, turning into a global punk showcase.
Ten bands from six countries are scheduled to perform, many making their U.S. debuts, in what organizers are calling their biggest lineup yet. The festival was created to bring international punk acts to Orlando just before they head to THE FEST in Gainesville, and over the past decade, it has featured dozens of bands from nearly 20 countries.
The lineup includes Germinar from Chile, Sunliner from Leeds, England, Swear from Genoa, Italy, Tokyo’s LEXT, Harker, another U.K. band with releases on Wiretap Records and Paper + Plastick, and Back Teeth, also from England.
Mexico’s Descartes A Kant stand out as the festival’s most experimental act, blending punk, metal, pop, and theatrical cabaret into unpredictable live performances. Bristol’s Toodles & The Hectic Pity mix folk-punk and emo, and rounding out the lineup, Germany’s Small State will be stomping onto the stage as well.
