Swedish indie-pop trio Peter Bjorn and John (Instagram | Website) are booked to bring their Writer’s Block 20th anniversary tour to The Beacham (Website) on Saturday, October 24, marking two decades since the release of the album that made them a global name. Singer-songwriter Josh Rouse (Website) is opening.
The tour celebrates the 2006 11-track album Writer’s Block, which Pitchfork named “Best New Music” and The Guardian called “a delight, from start to finish.” The record’s breakout single, “Young Folks,” built around an instantly recognizable whistled hook, became a fixture on Gossip Girl and How I Met Your Mother and has been sampled by both Drake and Kanye West. The band will perform the album in full alongside other selections from its catalog during its Orlando performance, but they probably won’t have the Japanese Rockabilly dancers from “Nothing To Worry About” with them (watch the video below).
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show is open to ages 12 and up. General admission tickets are $25 plus fees, with balcony seating available for $35. Tickets and full event details are available HERE.
