Orlando will host the final stop of the Olympic Q-Series 2028 on June 8-11, the International Olympic Committee announced May 7. The four-stop series serves as a qualification pathway to the LA28 Olympic Games and will feature six sports: 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, climbing, flag football, and skateboarding. Tokyo, Shanghai, and Montreal will host the first three stops in May and June 2028.
The series opens in Tokyo, May 4-7, moves to Shanghai, May 11-14, continues in Montreal, June 1-4, and concludes in Orlando, June 8-11.
“We’re thrilled that Orlando has been selected to host the Olympic Q-Series 2028, putting our city at the center of the road to LA28,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer (Like he’d be mad about it). “Our community has a proven track record of delivering world-class events and has earned its place as the nation’s premier sports destination.”
Jason Siegel, President and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, said the selection represents eight years of work: “This effort began nearly eight years ago, and we are incredibly grateful to our partners at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, Orange County, the City of Orlando, Visit Orlando, the Florida Sports Foundation, and the State of Florida.”
