Orlando Philharmonic to perform live score to Hitchcock’s Psycho at The Plaza Live

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra (Website) will perform the live score to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho on Thursday, May 28, at 7:30 p.m. at The Plaza Live.

Scott Terrell will conduct the orchestra as the classic horror film screens, featuring a string-only composition by Bernard Herrmann. The American Film Institute’s ranked the score in the top five greatest film scores of all time and the film itself in the top 20 greatest American films of all time, so you know it’s gonna be good.

The plot follows Phoenix secretary Marion Crane, played by Janet Leigh, who steals $40,000 from her employer to run away with her boyfriend. Understandable. While traveling on back roads to avoid police during a rainstorm, she stops for the night at the Bates Motel and meets proprietor Norman Bates, played by Anthony Perkins. Drama ensues.

The film is rated R for scenes of violence and gore, deemed not suitable by The Man for younger audiences.

Tickets are available HERE for purchase and start at $40.
