Orlando Fringe (Website) is bringing back Orlando Out Fest this fall, which is an even gayer weekend than its big sister summer fest, full of queer theatre, art, music, and film running Thursday, September 10, through Sunday, September 13, with a free opening party on Wednesday, September 9.

The festival is presented by Orlando Fringe and curated by George Wallace, executive director of The Center Orlando, in partnership with The Center, the Renaissance Theatre Company and the Starlight Room at Savoy Orlando. The lineup spans 21 shows and events across venues in the Ivanhoe Village and Mills 50 neighborhoods.

Tickets go on sale August 21 for Club Fringe members and August 24 for the general public HERE.

“As the former executive director of Orlando Fringe and the current chief executive director of The Center Orlando, I get to marry my two passions, theatre and serving the LGBTQ community,” Wallace said in a statement. He said he sought out performers who have been part of Orlando Fringe for years alongside artists making their Orlando Fringe debut, pulling together a mix of local and national queer artists working in stand-up, burlesque, storytelling and drag.

The schedule includes a broad range of formats. Comedy and cabaret acts include “Beer With a Queer,” “Erika MacDonald: Tea Time,” “Janine Klein: Gay Bar Star,” “Hot Mess: A Comedy Show for Clowns,” “Hey Myster, Letters to the Music That Healed Me,” “Mitzi Morris: Live at the Come On Inn,” “Wanzie Presents Deloris Scrud” and “Lee Cohen Comedy Hour,” the last a stand-up benefit show with proceeds going to The Center’s A Walk For Change AIDS Walk. Drag, burlesque and variety programming includes “Midnight Male Review: In the Buff,” “Soul Erotic,” “Wild and Gay Animal Kinkdom” and “Q the Legends.” Film programming includes “A Day in the Life of Miss Sammy” and “Greetings From Queertown: Orlando,” a documentary honoring Orlando’s LGBTQ trailblazers and community builders, along with the narrative feature “Two Eyes,” starring Academy Award nominee Lily Gladstone. The festival also features the Watermark Out News-hosted “Movies Out Loud” series, screening “Who’s That Girl” and “Showgirls,” along with the shows “Pillow Talk” and “Wanzie Presents Deloris Scrud.”

“We are so excited to bring back Orlando Out Fest as a part of our Orlando Fringe programming to celebrate and recognize the art made by and for the LGBTQIA+ plus community,” Orlando Fringe artistic director Tempestt Halstead said in a statement. “These partnerships bring together some of the people and organizations who make Orlando’s queer community so strong, and we can’t wait to come together and celebrate all the amazing queer shows, films and art.”
