Mills Gallery (Website) will open the first-ever gallery exhibition of local independent artist Vaugh Belak (Instagram) on Thursday, October 2, at 6:30 p.m. in their Mills 50-based venue, located at 1650 N. Mills Avenue [GMap] in Mills Park.
The exhibition will feature several of Belak’s works, as he transitions from a more street-friendly self-taught style to a more gallery-ready aesthetic. A press release issued by the gallery last week shared that, “The works on view reflect a profound personal transformation. As Belak navigates the realities of growing older, he embraces a version of himself that is more compassionate, honest, and unapologetically direct. His art channels these shifts in perspective, offering pieces that are at once intimate and uncompromising, playful and raw.”
“This Exhibition is not just my first gallery show—it’s a statement about change,” Belak reflected in the release, saying, “It’s about becoming gentler, letting go of old baggage, and cutting through the noise with something real.”
Admission to the exhibition opener is free.
