Live orchestra to perform Blade Runner score in sync with film at Dr. Phillips Center

Blade Runner Live is coming to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (Website) in downtown Orlando on Saturday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m.

The event pairs a screening of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic, in its 2007 Final Cut, on a large HD screen with a live performance of the film’s score. The Avex Ensemble will play the synthesizer-led music in sync with the picture, and apparently, it’s the first time the score has been performed live in sync with the film. But we didn’t verify that.

Released in 1982, Blade Runner follows Rick Deckard, a (super handsome) hunter (played by a young and hunky Harrison Ford) who has to track down four escaped Replicants and falls for Rachel, (who happens to be a Replicant), and chaos ensues.

The film is rated R, and the event is intended for audiences 17 and older, according to the Dr. Phillips Center. Open captions will be displayed on screen.
