GWAR will bring their theatrical heavy metal spectacle to The Beacham on Thursday, November 5, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The show is presented by The Beacham and Foundation Presents and is open to ages 12 and up.
Supporting acts include Midnight, Mac Sabbath and X-Cops.
GWAR has been one of rock’s most gloriously unhinged live acts since the mid-1980s, a Virginia-born heavy metal band whose concerts are as much theater of the absurd as they are music. The band performs in elaborate alien warrior costumes and is known for drenching front-row audiences in fake blood and other “fluids” sprayed from oversized props during the show. Wear clothes you don’t mind ruining, if you plan on attending. Maybe lean into it and make a GWAR blood tie-dye shirt. You do you.
Decades in, GWAR remains one of the more committed live experiences in rock, a band that has never once taken itself seriously and is all the better for it. And I need to find out who makes their outfits.
Tickets start at $36 and are available for purchase HERE.
