Bad Ass closes Curry Ford location but adds burgers to Milk District menu

Bad Ass Burgers (Website) closed its Curry Ford Road location on May 17 and merged operations with Bad Ass Sandwiches (Instagram) in the Milk District.

Chef John Collazo, who owns both concepts, announced the consolidation on the Bad As’s Joints website and on social media (video at the bottom of this post), thanking Orlando for “all the love and support these past 3 years.”

The burger concept opened in late 2022 at 4205 Curry Ford Road [GMap] in the space formerly occupied by Kathi Rolls. The restaurant featured burgers made with Australian wagyu beef, hand-cut French fries fried in beef tallow (before it became a whole thing), house-made soft-serve ice cream, and hand pies.

Bad Ass Sandwiches, located at 207 N. Primrose Drive [GMap] in the Milk District, will now incorporate items from the burger menu. Collazo said the menu is being reformatted “to meet both locations’ demands.”

Bad Ass Sandwiches started as a food truck in 2015 before expanding to a brick-and-mortar location in the Milk District in 2016. The restaurant has won numerous awards, including recognition as a Foodster Award winner. Collazo trained at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia and worked at award-winning restaurants in New York, Philadelphia, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard before launching Bad Ass Sandwiches.
