The Angel of Hope of Central Florida (Website) will hold its annual candlelight vigil on December 6 to offer a space for families to honor and remember children who have died. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. at Sunshine Park, located at 888 Oakland Road [GMap] in Altamonte Springs.
The vigil follows a simple, solemn format shaped around remembrance. As part of the ceremony, flowers will be placed at the Angel of Hope statue, which is featured at the center of the park, while the names of children who have passed are read aloud. The flowers are provided through the SIDS Alliance of Florida (Facebook), which partners with the organization to support grieving families. Parents who wish to have their child’s name included in the reading can register through the Angel of Hope of Central Florida’s website, linked above.
The Angel of Hope statue, modeled after the figure from the novel “The Christmas Box” by Richard Paul Evans, serves as a permanent place to gather and reflect for those navigating loss. Angel of Hope is celebrating 15 years of service this year.
