The Orlando Mural Festival returns for its third year, kicking off Thursday, September 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. as part of 3rd Thursday at CityArts (Website), with the celebration continuing at a free Art Party on Saturday, September 19.
The festival, a program of Downtown Arts District and CityArts presented by the Downtown Development Board, brings together approximately 15 local, national, and international muralists to create large-scale works throughout downtown Orlando.
This year’s opening night at CityArts includes a special exhibition in the upstairs Signature Gallery, showcasing studio work from muralists who have participated in the festival over its first two years, giving visitors a better look at their portfolio of work.
The Orlando Mural Festival Art Party follows on Saturday, September 19, from 2 to 10 p.m. across CityArts, the Fordify the Arts Courtyard, and Thornton Park Market on Central Boulevard in front of World of Beer. The free event includes live mural painting, art vendors, a sticker exhibition, food vendors, and a DJ lineup featuring DJ Krazy Dazie, DJ M9.3, and DJ Hulian. Dizzlephunk Live, featuring CreativAngel, Saxy Billy and Cone Figgins, will close out the night with an album release performance from 8 to 10 p.m.
