The City of Orlando is hiring a Turkey Lake Park Manager to lead daily operations at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake, an 183-acre signature park that offers recreational opportunities, environmental education workshops, and large-scale public events.
Responsibilities include managing park operations across fishing, camping, disc golf, nature trails, a children’s farm, boarding stables, and special events. The role supervises professional, technical, and maintenance staff through hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation. The manager oversees recreational and nature-based programming while balancing public access and environmental protection, manages park budgets and financial records, coordinates contracts, vendors, rentals, and special events, and addresses customer concerns and operational challenges with sound judgment.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Environmental, Natural Resources, or Leisure Services (or related field) and three years of park experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Salary range is $29.07-$37.07 per hour.
