Winter Park is preparing to say goodbye to two longtime dining institutions. Chez Vincent and Hannibal’s Lounge, both located in Hannibal Square, will host its last day of service on December 21 after nearly three decades in business. The Gagliano family, who opened and operated the restaurants, announced the news in a heartfelt message shared on their Facebook page earlier today.
According to the statement, Chef Vincent Gagliano and his wife, Teri, moved to Florida more than 30 years ago to begin their life together. After meeting in Mexico and marrying in Vincent’s hometown of La Roche Blanche, France, they chose Winter Park as the place to raise their family. Vincent worked as a chef locally until the opportunity arose to open his own restaurant.
Chez Vincent opened 28 years ago in Hannibal Square, quickly gaining a reputation for classic French cuisine and warm hospitality. In 2007, the family expanded with Hannibal’s Lounge, providing a more relaxed space for cocktails and gatherings. Over the years, the two spaces became fixtures of the Winter Park dining scene, known for intimate dinners, special occasions, and loyal regulars.
The family confirmed that both restaurants have been sold to a “respected local chef and restaurateur,” with more details to be announced soon. They expressed confidence that the next owner will preserve the care and quality that defined Chez Vincent and Hannibal’s Lounge.
As for what comes next, the Gaglianos say they are ready to enjoy retirement and spend more time with loved ones. They encouraged patrons to stop in for one final meal before the last day of service on December 21.
Their closing message ended simply: “Merci pour tout… with all our love and appreciation.”
