The Ken Burns documentary series The American Revolution is in six parts, with each episode running two hours. Directed by Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmid, the PBS series takes place in the aftermath of the war, which helps to communicate a theme central to the series that Revolution is an ongoing project, not just a chapter in USA’s history. While the usual players like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are present, the stories of ordinary soldiers, women, enslaved people, Native Americans, and Loyalists are also told.
The American Revolution will premiere on Sunday, November 16, and WUCF will mark the occasion with three screenings in the Central Florida area. Organizers are strongly encouraging registration as space is limited.

“These gatherings remind us that the story of America is still being written right here at home,” said Jennifer Cook, WUCF Executive Director in her monthly e-newsletter and added that the events “spark dialogue, celebrate heritage, and bring our shared story to life.”
