Minneapolis rapper Prof (Instagram), known to his fanbase as Gampo, performed Friday night at The Plaza Live in Orlando’s Milk District, with four openers, Willie Wonka, Grieves, Norman Sann, and Khantrast. Each opener drew a strong response from the crowd. There were some sound issues early in the night, but they were resolved by the time Prof came on.
Prof has spent nearly two decades building one of the most loyal fanbases in independent hip-hop, and his eighth studio album GOOD TIME BOY is due out June 26 on his own Stophouse Music Group. The album features a stacked guest list of appearances, including T-Pain on “Jewelry Duty,” That Mexican OT and 2 Chainz on “Big Dog,” E-40 on “Brrrr,” and appearances from Pete & Bas, JonRay, and Sauce Walka.
Willie Wonka, Grieves, Norman Sann and Khantrast each brought a distinct style to a lineup that kept the energy high from the first set to the headliner.
