Seniors First (Website) will host its 37th annual Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26, at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando, with proceeds supporting Meals on Wheels and other programs.
The event kicks off at 7 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m., with more than 5,000 runners, joggers, and walkers participating, many in costumes and Thanksgiving-themed hats.
The entry fee ranges from $40 to $50 until race day, which will also feature a best costume contest and a best turkey call contest, among other activities. Registration is open at turkeytrotorlando.com.
In 2025, Seniors First served more than 4,100 older adults across Central Florida, according to the release. That included more than 427,000 meals, 83,492 pounds of food through its Community Food Pantry, and 1,730 bags of fresh produce through Garden Patch Delivery, which launched last year.
The organization also runs programs aimed at reducing senior loneliness, including partnerships with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and Orlando Ballet that bring music and movement directly to older adults.
